2: Yes, we have just ten weeks to go before the 10th Annual Lake Martin Classic Golf Tournament tees off! We will be signing up golfers and sponsors next week. The monies raised at this year’s tournament will help fund adding lighted hazard buoys to replace unlighted buoys currently installed. Each lighted buoy costs $500. These are $300 more expensive than the unlighted buoys. The funds needed to keep this project moving forward are high. This project is the work of our fine folks at Lake Martin Resource Association. Sign up soon as this event is always sold out! Click here for more information. (see PDF file)
1: My last Top Ten this week is from me, personally. It’s about a business owned by friends I have known for many years, Debbie and Keith Hiett. The Hiett’s are two of the most generous, genuine and kind people I have ever met on Lake Martin. They took over Stillwater’s Golf and opened Copper’s Grill over the past couple of years. They have not only made incredible improvements to the golf course, they have also provided a place for family and friends to gather for a great dinner and weekly entertainment. The sight of kids playing with Hula Hoops or running around in the grassy areas while adults enjoy a great dinner is almost like a Norman Rockwell painting. They’ve brought back what Stillwaters used to have in the 70’s and 80’s. Not only have they greatly improved Stillwaters, they’ve also contributed to improving property values throughout Stillwaters. If you drive through Stillwaters’ gates, you will see new homes under construction around almost every turn. There are currently 1,816 Stillwaters’ property owners and growing. I believe each of these property owners have benefitted from the changes and additions that both Debbie and Keith have made to this community! Thank you to these two wonderful people and all they have done to improve our great lake community!
